IME Workshop about Thalassaemia

Considering the wholly Italian mission G8 entrusted with us to bring our scientific knowledge to save millions of children, IME team will arrange for the International Workshop about Bone Marrow Transplant from 27th to 31st March, in Rome, at the University of Torvergata.
Doctors coming from more than 26 countries will take part into it.

First workshop on:
BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION IN THALASSEMIA
27/31 March 2006

The workshop is directed to participants who wish to improve their knowledge in fields related to bone
marrow transplantation in Thalassemia. The following topics will be covered in the workshop:

OBJECTIVES

• Improve scientific knowledge and methodology in Immunogenetics.
• Focus on the correct clinical processes related to bone marrow transplantation in
Thalassemia.
• Discuss the complications related to bone marrow transplantation, such as graft rejection,
graft versus host disease and infections
• Identify organizational processes to determine the best quality approach to different clinical
cases



The workshop will feature experts reviewing the topics and giving lectures in the various sessions.
Participants will also have the opportunity to meet experts in the different scientific areas and receive a more
detailed update on the methods and the techniques used in different fields.
An end-of-workshop assessment will be given to participants based on interactive methods.
