Among its statutory purposes MedChild Foundation counts the analysis, the valuation and monitoring of child situation also with the assistance of one or more specialistic indicators called Child Well-Being Index-CWI.

The search produced a definition of the Index through syntetic indicators of essential aspects of children condition.

Professor Jacques van der Gaag led the research from the scientific point of view with the collaboration of Rome Research Center and showed it during the international seminary “How to create a child wellbeing index and how to apply it to the euro-mediterranean area” at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 25th october 2004.

Compagnia of San Paolo in Turin financed the study.

Operational development of the project
